Professor Robert Grzeszczak’s research stay at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

From 20 August to 27 September 2026, Professor Robert Grzeszczak, Head of the Chair of Transnational Law, is undertaking a research stay at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

He is hosted by the Chair of Public Law and European Law, led by Professor Matthias Ruffert. The stay is funded by the University of Warsaw’s Excellence Initiative – Research University (IDUB) programme.

This period is devoted to intensive work on several academic papers which are expected to be published later in 2026. They are connected by a question that has become increasingly pressing for public lawyers: what happens to law, its institutions and its fundamental principles when the world of politics begins to lose its balance?

Berlin provides excellent libraries, while Brandenburg offers lakes, forests and a slightly quieter rhythm for academic work. As for research material, contemporary politics continues to supply more than enough of it.
